Led by the former Head of the Department at the Trivandrum Medical College Hospital, Dr. M.A Akbar, the general surgery department is competent to handle all types of surgical cases. The department with its 2 dedicated state-of-the-art operation theaters routinely performs surgeries related to the thyroid, intestine, breasts, varicose veins, male and female reproductive organs, planned trauma corrections, hernias among other regular cases.
